I agree that saying a prayer by just reciting it can be dangerous. Despite your bad experience, that does not discount my good experiences. Going to a hospital can be bad or it can be good. You might need to go despite your past bad experience.pruittcommunicationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01644765530747792593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6816469.post-68873417813770997662008-12-04T01:18:00.000-05:002008-12-04T01:18:00.000-05:00Dear Terry, Since altar calls are associated in mo...Dear Terry, Since altar calls are associated in most people's minds with getting saved, I would not advocate that an altar call or invitation be given after a sermon. It is not Biblical and thousands upon thousands of people have been deceived into believing they were saved, because they said the sinner's prayer, when they were not. God sends us forth to proclaim the word of truth - period. The calling and convicting and saving are the work of the Holy Spirit. I was deceived for over 30 years and I have talked to so many others who were too. My Pastor responded to an altar call when he was 12, started preaching when he was 16, but did not truly get saved (born-again) until he was 20. There's just too much risk of deceiving people to make a valid case for having an altar call.Christianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10427267634507263915noreply@blogger.com
