Rock of Ages

Image
We sang this song on Sunday during worship. When I was running this morning the song started playing in my head. I am healing from years of feeling defeated. There are a lot of emotions stirred that I would not expect. As I start new legs of my journey with Christ I am reminded that he is my protector. He is my source of life. He is uncomparable.

Seemingly Famous Quote by Dr. Mark Meyer

Reading the Bible in English is like watching TV in black and white; reading the Bible in Hebrew is like watching TV in color. -- Dr. Mark Meyer. So for those of you searching the Internet to see who said this, Dr. Mark Meyer is who I have heard say it in his classes. I do not know who said it prior to him.

Some of My Theological Values

Reformed Theology (Five Point Calvinist) - God is the author of salvation. He moves and acts in ways that are a mystery to us. He saves us without merit on our own. We cannot save ourselves. Regulative Principle in Family Life, Church Government, Worship, and Ethics - God governs our practices as well as our teachings. Intellectually Engaged - Faith is coherent. Historical-Grammatical method of Hermeneutics - The historical - grammatical method is a Christian hermeneutical method that strives to discover the Biblical author's original intended meaning in the text. Spirit Led; Spirit Empowered - All Christians receive the Holy Spirit at regeneration. He teaches them and enables them for service. No Small People - Regardless of social position, talent, ability and aptitude God has made each person we meet special in some unique way. Cultura
